Crazy old people

Every so often you'll hear about some ancient person still living doing something "crazy." This can include, but isn't limited to, Bungee jumping, riding in a hot-air balloon, jumping out of a plane, getting behind the wheel of a car, etc. These elderly folk are seldom younger than 80, and somehow their story gets them national attention.

This is not only the least impressive thing someone at their age can do, but it's sad. If you are over 100 years old and taking "life threatening risks," there is no risk involved. When you are over 100, waking up every morning is a life threatening risk. Walking is a life threatening risk. When you are over 100, breathing and blinking become life threatening risk. So please, a note to the 'crazy' elderly, stop trying to get the attention that you didn't get the last 400 years of your life.

Show me a baby that crawls on the ledges of skyscrapers. That's crazy! Show me a 3rd grader that will jump out of a plane with no parachute claiming he can survive. If he doesn't survive, uh-oh, he could've been someone or done something to benefit society in the following 65 years of life. When you're over 100, you have nothing yet to contribute to society but your bones.

If you're going to do something crazy, do it when there is something to actually risk, like your life or a future. Don't wait till you're going to die anyway to do it. I have nothing but contempt for you elderly cowards.
